Medically Retired and placed in Retired Reserve

No, tricare will cost you nothing. Apply for social security too. Use allsup, they tell you no right off the bat so you need an advocate. Your retirement pay will be offset by your va pay. Cause you typically can't dip twice. If combat related apply for crsc ASAP. That allows you to get some...

Husband is PDRL, 70%. VA 100%, P/T Crsc LOD His discharge orders say non taxable. Here's the question: last year we went with a new accountant. She calculated all our income, ( I work for the VA making about 45,000.00) to figure out my bracket, then taxed us. Rather than just taxing us...

SECDEF directs additional consideration of PTSD by Boards for Correction of Military/Naval Records

Jason, I have a battle buddy whose contract ended, he was undiagnosed at the time. Is 50 % for ptsd. He should be higher. Served with me 04-05. Does this apply to him? He has 8 years active.

Army has never awarded 100% rating for PTSD???

My husband is 100% with both the VA and TDRL with the Army, we will see about PDRL, but will fight because he is. He is actually 100 P/T with the VA plus 60 % which qualifies him for incompasitated.

TDRL EXAM BEING CONDUCTED BY IWA/QTC SERVICES

I am the wife of a soldier going through this process. (I use his handle here sometimes). He too is going through IWA, and QTC. As far as the doctor, they use the same formulation for Social Security, VA, the military, and even workmans comp. What he is to determine is the level of your...

    TDRL

You need your decision letter. It must indicate you are 100% Permanent and Total. Fill out the application and submit all required documents. The fax number is on the form. Do not forget to include the copy of the decision letter from the VA that indicates 100% P/T. Don't forget to follow up. We...

How can I lower my VA disability rating?

WTH? your 30% for PTSD? the minimum ptsd rating is 50%! Whatever the case that would depend on whether PTSD is disqualifying for service, and rank, and MOS. All things considered I don't think so. Not for an Officer, then again someone smarter than me would have to confirm. just curious...

TDRL being done by a contractor

They are sending me for my TDRL PTSD re-eval to a psychologist civilian, who no doubt has little to no experience with military related evals, much less PTSD. Is this appropriate? BTW, the "team" at Ivan Walks has so far been a group of inept, lax, uncaring liars. They keep sending letters...

    Health Care (VA versus Tricare)

I would opt for Tricare, you can get tricare for life at no cost to you. There are supplemental plans to purchase. You can always go to the VA for as much of your care as you dare (they actually haven't been horrible for my husband). But like fdmckeever said, you can't go anywhere but the VA...
