Chapter while wating for WTU orders ?

Let the first sgt do all the paperwork and let him get a little stressed out, He cannot chapter you based on overweight if you have started the MEB process. A MEB takes precedence over any admin chapter unless the chapter is based for misconduct.

    Should I appeal PEB decision?

If your disability is combat related, then you don't have to pay back severance. As far as tricare, if you are IU P & T, then your dependents should be eligible for ChampVA if you elect to receive severance. What it comes down to is this, if you are retired from the military, you might be able...

How to figure my retirement rate????

You were retired 30% from DoD so you will be getting 30% of your high 36 average. I don't know where your getting 50% from for DoD retirement. VA comp for 80% is $1478 so if you have elected to waive your retirement in favor of VA comp, it should be tax free since $1478 is greater than $795. I'm...

Confused about pay with possible 100% rating

If Meniere's is your unfit condition from DoD and are rated at 100%, then your retired pay would be the average of your high-3 at 75% which is the highest DoD will pay you for retirement. As far as getting both DoD retirement and VA pay, its not going to happen if under 20yrs of service. You get...

    TDRL to PRDL

If i was you, I would probably take it to the formal board with all medical documentation from the VA and any other doctors that might know of your conditions. The biggest difference would be in pay, compare 70% of your high 3 compared to 52.5 percent of your high 3. Also, if your disabilities...

    Va/retirement pay help

Your VA rep is high as a kite :p, there is no such thing as equivalent of 20 yrs, either you have them or you don't, period. I was put on TDRL at 12 yrs 9 months 80% DoD, 90% VA. My dod retirement was about 2400 a month. VA, i was eligible to receive 1900 and some change but I could not get both...

    Va/retirement pay help

You cannot get both amounts from DoD and Va. You have to choose which amount you want to get from either the army or Va. The only way you can get some back is through CRSC. In your case, your retirement amount should be greater than the Va's in which case you can elect to just receive your...

diagnosed with PTSD by military docs and VA. why did dod deny my PTSD claim?

It would matter if he has family that needs Tricare for medical insurance after he gets out of the military. 30% retirement from DoD will give you the ability to use tricare. Also, if the issues are combat related, he can then apply for CRSC to get a little more extra chunk of change. The VA...

Advice for future TDRL evaluation needed.

Actually if you were discharge under 20yrs you can only collect either VA or DOD but not both. The only way to collect a percentage of your DoD (if you chose VA comp) is if your injuries are combat related. Then you can apply for CRSC and if approve you might be able to receive some part of your...

    unemployment and TDRL??

I'm from texas and one of the requirements here is for you to be able to work. Now just because you have been medically discharge from the military doesn't mean that you cannot work. Ex, I was given 80% from the army for back, ptsd, cognitive disorder and a few others, but I could still work...

confused with PDRL pay and VA

Because you are under 20yrs, you cannot receive CRDP, but if your injuries are combat related, then you may be eligible for CRSC. This website offers some info on both programs. Hope this helps. CRSC and CRDP

Quick question regarding MMRB/remaining time in service.

Quick question regarding MMRB/reclassing and PCSing No, if you are going through a MEB, MMRB then your reenlistment code should have change, meaning that you are locked into your current unit until you either change MOS or get medically discharged. And this is if your paperwork got turned in...

confused with PDRL pay and VA

You can only get money from either DOD or VA not both. Now depending on the difference between both, YOU can elect to chose who YOU want compensation from. Most of the time, compensation from DOD is taxed unless combat related. VA comp is not taxed. Hope this helps.

    PTDY question

No, your retirement date is 28 Aug, you will be out of the army on the 29 Aug. If you have any leave saved up you can take that with PTDY but its up to your chain of command whether or not they will allow you to take it. Also, make sure you have enough time to outprocess and get your stuff moved...

    weight control/ flag

The only way to not get flagged is to make weight. Regardless of any medical limitations that you may have, they only limit the time it would take you to make weight. Lets say you have a medical condition like hypothyroidism, a flag will not be initialized until after a doctor documents stating...

    P2 Profile: Grounds for MEB?

A P2 will not trigger an MEB. Now depending on how bad your asthma is, there is a possibility that the hospital might upgrade the profile. If that is the case, then yes all your medical conditions should be annotated prior to going to an IPEB. Only those conditions not meeting retention...
