    New Type 1

Brought up some anxiety and trouble with sleeping due to my initial diagnosis. Just finished my VA psychologist appointment. Lasted 8 minutes. Seemed to be a waste of time.

Help with Clarity and Understanding of MEB Process

Exactly. I had some well intentioned leadership who almost sent me down the wrong path with dealing with my current situation. Thankfully Jason and this website are here to help.

    Excellent info as always, Jason!

    New Type 1

Thanks for the info, and I am sorry to hear of your situation. My leadership came to visit me while in the hospital, and I believe they had good intentions when they encouraged me to get another 100 on a PT test to show how well I am doing. Doing this caused me to get dizzy and darn near pass...

Glad to hear you are moving along with the process. Is there a time you would possibly be available via phone or email for a few questions? Thanks!

looking for air force LAS form

Good luck, and thanks for the info. I might have to do the same, and will have to see if I can borrow a copy of your letter. I'm on wing staff here, so the boss said he would write whatever necessary and I guess my group/cc already talked with the functional. Should be another fun part of the...

    Type 1 waiting for ratings

Any news? This seems to be such a slow process. I just had my first C&P exam last week, and have another one next week. Good luck!

Small world. I am volunteering to help run a few of the events.

When can I add additional claims to VA claim?

Makes sense. I was under the impression I could note the few undocumented areas at my final C&P exam.

    TDRL to PDRL

Makes sense. Thanks for the clarification. Speaking about this with my doctor today, he noted how the unstable nature of type 1 is interesting where rhe symptoms could get worse, but never get all the way better.

Thanks. I find it interesting how this was not available via a google search or e-publishing

When can I add additional claims to VA claim?

I uploaded a document to eBenefits during the gathering evidence phase and my PEBLO asked if I could send them the documents in the future. I hope all of the issues not listed can be addressed at the final c&p exam.

When can I add additional claims to VA claim?

This seems to be another area where my PEBLO is either misinformed or lazy. The VA form listing my conditions stated I had Diabetes. When I told the base VA rep I needed it to state Type 1 Diabetes, he told me this would be a terrible idea, and I would get 0 compensation, because "Type 1...

    TDRL to PDRL

I still cannot seem to understand the while TDRL concept for Type 1 Diabetes. My doctor specifically noted in my narrative summary that "this will be a permanent disease state."

    New Type 1

Met with my Endo today, and A1C was 8.1 3.5 months after diagnosis while wearing continuous glucose monitor. On waist only and restricted duty profile. Obviously cannot fly or deploy. It seems like my civilian doctor has had to work with the military quite a bit. He already wrote a letter...

First VA appointment today. Ear/nose/throat specialist noted vertigo, allergies, and some sinus issues. I have 5 more appointments scheduled over the next month or so, so we will see how everything goes.

    Recent Type I DX

Congratulations on getting what you deserve. What's next career-wise? I was diagnosed in April, and have my first VA appointment this week. It looks like the medical appointments with the VA will go through September. That was a quick timeline for you. Any tips on getting to 40%?
