    My heart breaks--undiagnosed PTSD

I cried when I read this story. I posted it to my FB page. I am at a loss. I never want this to happen again, but I know it is happening right now. What are we to do to save our brothers and sisters. I recommend this page to folks. I am thankful for it myself. But what of those who do not...

Any experience with 'Trial Duty" per AR 40-400????

So, I am going to be sent for a FFD evaluation for PTSD, but not until I return from a 28 day inpatient stay at Haven Behavioral War Heroes Hospital, supposed to be excellent for PTSD. A little background, have been in therapy for 2 years, this will be my second inpatient (first one sucked)...

    PDRL vs TDRL

I am sure someone with more knowledge and experience will chime in, but from reading other migraine threads on this site, I think they give TDRL for migraines as well.

Fit for duty vs MEB????? REALLY NEED ADVICE!!!

I am being sent to fit for duty evaluation for PTSD. I will more than likely be found unfit. I am currently in physical therapy for back (herniated disk/spinal stenosis). If fit for duty finds me unfit for PTSD, will they start the MEB before I am finished with treatment for my back? Thanks!

19.5 Years MS Diagnosis Return To Duty

I could be wrong, but I thought the 18 year lock-in, or sanctuary, only applies to reserve component service members. What is Sanctuary? Title 10 USC, 12686a. Commonly referred to as “18 year lock in”, “Sanctuary” is the term that is being used for Reserve Component (RC) Soldiers who are...

CRSC/CRDP question for RC retirement vs. medical retirement

Thanks for the answer. Not sure what my outcome with the treatment will be, but I am glad I found this site, stopped lurking and started participating. It helps to know that we are not alone.

CRSC/CRDP question for RC retirement vs. medical retirement

Jason, 6352 as of 24 June 2011, and I have not yet started an MEB process, on convalescent leave right now waiting to go to Cincinnati VA 7 week PTSD program. Michelle

CRSC/CRDP question for RC retirement vs. medical retirement

OK, so I have 25 years reserve component service. The past 16 of those years are AGR (active guard reserve), and I am still AGR. I am possibly looking at an MEB for PTSD (combat), migraines, and possibly MS (still in testing stage for that - BLEH, the hits just keep on coming). So, it is...

Need an Inpatient facility for combat PTSD. Advice?????

Thanks for the phone numbers. I will look into it if I don't get into this Cincy VA program. I like how you said you are not locked down. I hate that. I am not a "threat", I just need some help.

what is the VA rate for my herniated disc?

I don't think herniated disc by itself is rated, I think it is your range of motion, and things like that. Like, why were you sent to MEB? Because your back pain doesn't allow you to perform your duties? I am sure someone else will chime in, but need to look at the severity of the condition...

Am I screwed for PEB because my evals were good to go?

Hubler13f, Thanks for the reply. I hope I won't have to get out, but you know, I have been a platoon leader in combat and a commander stateside, and now I can barely handle one task at a time. I know the bosses think they are looking out for my best interests, and if this new PTSD program...

VA/DOD Smart Phone App Helps Veterans Manage PTSD

I gotta say, I didn't think much of this App when I first learned about it. I think it might be the pitch, that "if you have PTSD, this is the APP for you!" - maybe I am just cynical since nothing seems to help me long term. BUT, I was in the middle of an anxiety attack while visiting my...

Need an Inpatient facility for combat PTSD. Advice?????

I think geographically I would like to stay closer to home than NY or MN, but hell, who knows. My therapist just filled out the paperwork for a 7 week PTSD program at the Cincinnati VA. That is about 125 miles from home, so my husband could visit. I am on convalescent leave until then. I...

    defending my position

Chinook, I am sorry you had to defend your position to a person who will obviously not consider walking a mile in your boots (and you obviously cannot walk a mile). I will tell you though, as someone who may be going through an MEB soon, that at this point in this journey, I am worried and...

Need an Inpatient facility for combat PTSD. Advice?????

Thanks for the replies. When I went to the first one I had no idea what to look for. Yes, the lockdown part was horrible. The suggestion to go look first is great, I will do that.

Am I screwed for PEB because my evals were good to go?

Some background about why I am asking my question. I am an AGR Soldier. 25 total years, 16 active. In 2009, I was off work for 9 weeks when my PTSD started to get the best of me. Not documented as convalescent leave, just a note from my therapist and I didn't report to duty. Prior to this...

Need an Inpatient facility for combat PTSD. Advice?????

I wrote most of this on the intro page, but have not had a response, so thought I would start a separate thread. I have been struggling (that's putting it lightly) with PTSD for the past several years, and migraines for the better part of a year. I was diagnosed in 2004 after 10 months in...

    OPORD 11-21 MEB Surge Processing

There is a new program called MAR2, which replaced the MMRB, and that may have something to do with it? FLW is one of the pilot installations, but the program has been fully implemented. I am in the Guard and we are doing it now instead of the MMRB. Check out this link...

    What are my odds

I have been living with PTSD for years. Although mine is combat-related, I can tell you that pain is pain, and you should definitely seek help. They can tell you what it is, it may be depression, which shares many of the same symptoms of PTSD. Whether they rate you or not, it won't go away on...
