    Major Star Act CRDP

Sad news to report on the MRSA. Tonya was a tireless advocate for medically retired combat veterans: https://www.moaa.org/content/publications-and-media/news-articles/2024-news-articles/recommended-reads/tonya-star,-widow-of-maj.-richard-star,-dies-at-51/

    CRSC

On the MRSA - I don’t expect it to pass this year (or maybe ever). Also, it’s likely to be capped at longevity, so there’s a ceiling there for most of us.

Anticipating MEB enlisted to officer question

A medical retirement absolutely waives the requirement for 10 years as an officer.

    CRSC Pay Estimate

This is incorrect. Ron will give you a good estimate when he gets a chance.

If you are DOD TDRL/PDRL retired with less than 20 years of service please read.

I used to be in the camp that this would be for full pension and full disability. However, I find myself more in the camp of @Provis that when it passes it’ll be capped at longevity.

Slightly concerned by my lawyer's suggestions

Your lawyer is right about being able to apply for CRSC for training injuries that “simulate combat.” However, CRSC is totally separate from the medboard process, takes place after you out. I don’t see how a formal board helps that case at all.

Retirement pay and not VA help

No problem. Very normal. Retirement pay will kick in until VA rating is finalized and starts paying out.

    Depression claim and low testosterone

I highly doubt it. Your claim and percentage will be based on your symptoms.

    TDRL Rating Increase Question

I was retired at 70% PTSD and placed on TDRL. I was 100% P&T from the VA so no reexamination from the VA even for the PTSD - I had 100% in static injuries in addition to the PTSD. That means my re-exam was left up to the Army. I did a 40 minute phone interview with Fort Lewis (I live in...

New VA Life Insurance Program (VALife)

It depends on the age you lock it in at. I locked in at 38 for $81.20 a month. It’s not a great investment, but I try to grab life insurance where I can that doesn’t require an exam. The policy also starts to build a cash value after two years...

    CRSC Denial

I agree with your interpretation 100%. I’m shocked at what appears to be such a blatant and incompetent reading of the relevant statutes. Lay all of this out for them in a reconsideration. If the outcome is the same, contact your local congressman.

Got my findings, looks like I am appealing to the Formal Board

If you haven’t done so, you may want to talk to an attorney. The ROI over a lifetime can be massive.

    PDRL/ VA Ratings

There is no requirement to notify VA of your move to PDRL.

    CRSC Affected by PEB Results?

The only thing that might make sense if is if they withdrew at a higher percentage than your actual tax bracket. Basically, you would find this out by just filing your taxes. The other possibility, is that your Peblo is just talking out his ass.

crsc back pay soto vs united states update

I understand the general sentiment, but I doubt too many recruits or their parents are worried about a 6 year time limit on CRSC. It’s not an issue that moves the needle. If anything the polarization and politicizing of the military is hurting recruiting. Along with America getting fatter. I’m...

Are all documents for CRSC necessary?

Yes along with the other documents you mentioned in your first post. It wouldn’t hurt to throw in your Purple Heart citation if you have it.
