MEB PROCESS HELP(what should I expect?)

Hello I’m currently going through the MEB process and I’m trying to figure out where I am in the timeline. My peeblo sent me bunch power points and read it but I’m still pretty confused.

I recently spoke with my PCM, and after asking a lot of questions about my condition, he told me he believes it will continue to get worse. He said he does not think I should be retained in the military, especially considering my job, and that he feels I’ve reached the point where he should be thanking me for my service rather than keeping me in.

My commander also completed my impact statement and marked “Do Not Retain.” I signed the statement acknowledging that I agree I’m no longer able to perform my duties and would not be beneficial to the Air Force in my current condition.

The problem is that I haven’t heard much from my PEBLO since the initial briefing and information about Pre-IDES. I haven’t signed anything medical-related yet, and I have no idea where I am in the process. The lack of communication is really increasing my anxiety.

Does anyone know what stage I might be at based on this information? At what point does the process usually start moving faster, and when should I expect to hear about the next steps? Any insight would be appreciated.

So, this sounds like you are still in the IRILO stage.
Your PEBLO has received both the NARSUM and CIS and is or has put together the IRILO packet to send to APFC.
AFPC is ultimately who decieds if you are going to be returned to duty (with or without an assignement limitaion code), or have a full Medical Evaluation Board (MEB).
The Air Force Personell Center (AFPC) is behind about 50 days on returning dispositions.
You can email or call your PEBLO to see when your IRILO packet was sent to the AFPC to see about where you are at in the process.
For example, my IRILO packet was sent to the APFC on 22 APR and I still have not heard anything back.

The process will end up moving faster as soon as the APFC makes a decision on your IRILO.
If they return you to duty, you just continue on your career but if they MEB, the process with all the VA exams will take place.

Hope this helps!

Most PEBLO's suck at communication. This is normal. You typically have to bug them to get the information.

Yes!
Check and see if they have sent it up yet and if so, what date did they send it!

As far as the NARSUM goes, for the IRILO NARSUM, you do not sign it. You will though sign the Commander Impact Statement (CIS).

If the AFPC says MEB, then in the actual MEB phase, you will sign a NARSUM of the boards findings, if you agree or disagree.
