National Guard MEB vs early retirement option pros/cons?

I just went through the MEDBOARD with the Army Reserves with 19 years (9 active) ended up with 22 years. But I don't qualify for CRDP because HRC says I didn't have 20 good years and wanted me to come back and drill to be able to get my "20 year letter". I ended up initiating the MEDBOARD...

My Completed FPEB Experience: What I Wish I Had Known Earlier

Wait...you mentioned "Some doctors told me their clinic did not allow them to submit permanent profiles during the MedBoard" So how did you get the "New Profiles" then? Also besides Hearing at 10% What other conditions were you able to add+ that = to the 100% DOD

CRSC 100%, Military Buy Back, FERS, Army Retired

You're very welcome!!:) My exact situation is different...I only bought back 6 years active duty...so I'm definitely going to 57 so I can get my immediate retirement pay.. But it seem like my military disabilities starting to affect me at work so I might just do an OPM disability retirement...

CRSC 100%, Military Buy Back, FERS, Army Retired

If your HR is confused, you should tell them to reach out to OPM and get guidance. It’s pretty clear, if you have over 20 years active duty and medically retired, if the PEB DA-form 199 says “retirement is due to combat “ you can : ✅ Buyback your active duty time & have it be added to OPM...

Guard/Reserve entering DES with existing VA Rating

I was in your shoes about 2 years ago in 2024. Initially I chose LDES, it was approved but I backed out and went IDES after finding out they don't have to abide by what VA ratings are. But yeah, - Tell your Peblo " I"m only requesting rating for DOD purposes only" - If you have a rating that...

Need help understanding. National Guard Med Board

I use to be in your shoes....I just completed by medboard in October 2024 with the Army Reserves after doing 6 years active, 6 National guard, and 7 Reserves. #1. If you're able to get over 30% DoD from the medboard, you could get Tricare Select for you and your family. There wouldn't be no...

CRSC AND VA RATING UNDER TERA

Good morning, Does CRSC automatically approve ratings rated under TERA too? I was rated 60% for Chronic Fatigue and 20% Fibromyalgia under TERA. I'm under the impression that those aren't the same as presumptive. Am I correct? I was in the Iraq in 2008 and 2011. I'm doing an HLR to see if VA...

    PDRL on DEERs?

Possibly Deers error...they usually get the information "you" gives them. I remember doing my medical retirement ID, everything was fine BUT DEERS did NOT check the box for "PDRL" in their system. By not doing that, the Tricare Office says I would have to fix that if I want the "free Tricare...

    AR-MMC

To get a P3, you must be on profile for a condition for 1 year. If you have a p3 for 1 year, not only will you get a p3, they usually start the medboard too. I just went through this last year.

CRSC 100%, Military Buy Back, FERS, Army Retired

If you’re Title 32 technician, you don’t lose your job because you’re getting medically retired in the military side. As a matter a fact that’s the only way to keep your technician job. I’m a federal employee in the GS side. I’m already medically retired in the military side. If I want i can...

    Medical Retirement contemplation

Which one of those do you have a profile for??? To start IDES you need to be on profile. I remember when I did mine, I didn't have a profile. I had to get on profile and have it be a P3 to initiate the MEB process My MEB was for PTSD/migraine/Lower back condition.

    Need guidance about MEB initiation

I was in the reserves too for about 9 years plus some active duty, before I ended up medically retired last year. Like you, I was 100 p&T before started medboard. how would this information be relayed to military medical for possible AMRO/IRILO review? you would have to pass that info to...
