PDBR results and filing with the VA

I realize this question is not completely related to the PDBR, but many vets might have a similar question. Does the VA have to recognize a service connected disability identified by the PDBR? In 2007-8, I filed with the VA after my PEB board when I was awarded 0% service connection due to...

No increased severence. Severence was based on time in service and base pay amount. I basically get nothing except reassurance that I wasnt crazy. To me that's worth a lot lately. Now I go after the VA who denied service connection and hopefully I can get backpay from them eventually.

    A little reassurance?

So the story has an end! I just got my decision letter in the mail. I have been upgraded from 0% to 10% based on meniscus problems and patellar femoral pain syndrome. This does not upset me at all. It helps tell me that there was something wrong with me after all and it was not in my head as...

    Scope of the PDBR board

I was only speaking to the statistics, and not your intentions. My point I guess, is that the PDBR is such a crapshoot in relation to what they will and won't do, that it behooves everyone to apply. I definitely think you agree. And your real-talk towards expectations is valuable. Even if...

    Scope of the PDBR board

What you are doing is worthwhile and you may uncover systematic downgrading yet again, but you are up against a large machine. And your data will be skewed from the get-go. Here's why: 1) These people were discharged with a 0-20% rating initially. In some cases, this applied even when the...

    A little reassurance?

They gave a prompt response! But no new information. But it does appear to be a good way to find out your AR#. Good afternoon, Your application was recently considered by the Physical Disability Board of Review (PDBR). Our agency has oversight of the PDBR. The application...

    A little reassurance?

So I got a little bored today and I'm going to be out of town and away from civilization for a few months. I'm worried something will come in the mail and I won't be here to act on it. I called Al at the infamous Al number and he said they did not have my file. Poor guy must get tired of...

    Current timeline

Hey Mr Pig, it sounds like you are talking about the PEB process and not the PDBR. PDBR os for people who medically seperated a long time ago. There's another section of the forums for that. 100 days for that might be close to right. The PDBR is a correction of records from a long time ago.

    Brand new to the process

In that case, PTSD might not show up on the radar of the PDBR. If it does, take it and run with it. But in the meantime while you wait you can make sure you have the proper VA ratings for your conditions and you're at least service connected with them. Make sure to send any updated rating...

    Brand new to the process

Hey SuperTwofer. Welcome to the circus! Generally you are correct in assuming the PDBR will only look at the conditions you were rated for. But if you look at the cases posted on the Air Force boards mentioned in other posts, you may find some where non-rated conditions were reviewed and even...
