The VA rated me at 90% but the main problem I have had throughout my entire career and for the reason I was medical boarded was due to my flat feet so the doctor states.
However, both flat feet and plantar was denied.
I am wondering if I should challenge this and go for 100% or just be happy...
I will not get my final package for 2 weeks the VA rep says but I did put something in my records about getting injured (non combat) while in Africa supporting Operation Restore Hope. I am not sure if that will count or not. All I know is that he told me my rating was 90%.
I am not sure where to put this thread so please move if not in appropriate place.
I was medical boarded and medically retired after 22 years even though I appealed at every level and lost. It was a slap in the face that I was being forced out with a 10% disability rating. I now understand...
Now, they are saying you will owe the AF some time (4 yrs?) in order to qualify for the transfer of GI Bill funds to dependents.
Before they were saying as long as you were active duty on 1 Aug 09 you would qualify.
I guess we will not know for sure until a much later date.
Jason,
I just officially received my notification for my FEB for next week and it states that we have to be in our class B blues on the day of the initial brief/in-processing and when we actually meet the formal board.
Do you have to be in your blues the whole time?
I am stationed at Randolph so I can hang out there until they need me cant I?
So, it may not go the whole following week? Just maybe until Wed? Thanks.
Hi there,
October 3rd (next Fri) is my initial briefing to my Formal Board at Lackland AFB in San Antonio. I assume that this first briefing is a mass briefing to all of the individuals going through this and then we will be given specific dates and times for our individual board and then we...
I was not sure where to put this post, but I guess this place will do just fine.
I am still no expert on this entire process but there are things I do know that need to be changed. This is especially true for the 40 day rule to transition out of the service (need more time) after the board...
They are trying to do that to me now as I am waiting for a Formal Board date.
I have nearly 22 years in, but I admit I am getting very sick and frustrated with all of my medical issues and how everyone up the chain look down on folks that are injured and can't perform all of PT and that can't...
So why would the board even offer me 10% if they knew it would never be accepted. It basically is a useless offer. They had my files and had to know what my LOS % was.
It sounds like I only have two options: Challenge the disability % offered to me and provide more documentation or proof...
I just found out who my PEBLO was yesterday and she wasn't sure about my question about the 10% they offered me, but she thought that my 55% for my 22 yr retirement would be added to the 10% which would make my retirement 65%.
If this is right or wrong and you know for sure please respond...
