Since your in the beginning, have you done your gen med and all that? If not, what I did which helped me- was write up a week long journal of my RSD symptoms, the pain- and how long it was lasting, description, rating from 0-10, and any other issues that my RSD caused (discoloration...

I would talk to your physical therapist too if you have one. They are the one that first noted RSD for me. After them I had like 8 different doctors agree, but its a start. The more you have noted in your file agreeing, the better off you will be!

My appeal went to the DCCS, who ultimately approved it. The other doctors had nothing to do with it- and I was happy when I found that out!! As for timeline- mine took 26 days to get it back.

I was told to have mine changed to say RSD, so I sent up an appeal (for that, and to add something else)...and they accepted it, and changed it..before my appeal it said chronic pain. My husbands only option is to get a total knee replacement, but hes only 25, so hes trying to put it off as long as he can. I dont even know how many knee surgeries he has had, but its at least 10.

I am on neurotin, and its really the only thing that I have found that helps... it might not seem like it now, but they may just have to tweak the dose for you. Stick with the neurotin awhile, let them play with the dose and everything, before you give up on it. What dose are you on? I dont have...

I was just talking to some of my soldiers here at carson... One got her unfit in 3 weeks, and a month after that got her 199.... another got her unfit in 16 days, and her 199 26 days after that. From what my PEBLO told me today, things have been speeding up... her average right now is 30 days...

He didnt undergo cartilage replacement, because with each thing they did, it was just making it worse. His knee was the only condition that he was found unfit for duty with, but it was enough to get him permanently retired,so we were happy.
