After some hard thought, I decided to just drop my retirement package. Even if I eventually get to Quantico for entry into IDES, I would be past the PFIT timeline and would have to appeal. I just don't have anything left in the tank to fight this. Thankfully I am already past 20. Submitted my...
Well, 30 April has come and gone and it would appear the Navy and Marine Corps orders that involve medical boards for personnel overseas have not been updated. I know COVID will have affected it but that doesn't help me get passed this all.
I did receive a letter for the president of the PEB...
You should be able to. When asked location preference I also gave them a date preference which was after the school year so my kids would be less affected. Of course they are now doing school online because of the virus but it still is good to think about.
Logged into MOL this morning to see I finally have orders to Quantico to be entered into the IDES. I know there will still be a long wait but at least I now have orders.
That's just it. It can be done remotely. They do it in the US all the time. There just isn't a written mechanism that allows it so they are having a hard time understanding how to assign a PEBLO overseas. Plus, it's the system. It is so beyond broken that it has actually taken a lawyer for them...
So neither, I actually came off of MSG and got stationed in Germany. The sole MSgt spot in my MOS in Germany that actually was created right before I picked up and left the MSG program.
The situation just keeps getting dragged on. I get it takes time but no movement for 8 months is ridiculous...
You have a huge leg up on me, I don't even have a PEBLO. There are no Navy or Marine ones in Europe but there are Army and Air Force...which we can't currently use even though they have the same training. I could literally drive an hour away to get all the appointments necessary for the PEB to...
I have been doing that and they have been pushing and getting the same response everyone has, silence or options that allow the Marine Corps to just retire me without doing any PEB processing beyond what I've done. As mentioned, I am a Master Sergeant (your Senior level in the AF) so I have...
I'll let slimothy1914 respond for his stuff but it will basically be kind of stuck there. However, they are supposed to then see if your command is willing to cover a TDY for the C&P exams, find out if they can be had on island (last heard they cannot but they are available in Tokyo), and if the...
Not gonna lie, I just now noticed the dangling participle comment and I couldn't agree more with that assessment. It's like people's brains are not allowed to here anything regarding TDY for the C&P exams.
Mine too. The orders side will differ slightly because you are Navy but both policies for medical pull from Navy. Orders are currently on hold until May 26 (currently) for all DoD but I see that changing to longer. However, the docs can try and do a medical necessary move and get the GO...
So...you are in the same holding pattern I am. OIDES was cancelled as of Sept 2019. All Navy and Marine overseas cases were suspended in Dec/Jan awaiting the ASN MRA Policy. Basically, the OIDES was illegal and against federal/DoD policy. The Policy letter that came out last week gives the Navy...
Update but not an update.
I've attached the ASN MRA policy for the Navy and Marine overseas DES process. It has good information but still doesn't really provide the way ahead. It does require the Navy and Marine Corps to update all orders associated by 20 April. Time will tell.
I've...
