I am wondering about this topic too since I am wondering if I can apply for SSDI. I am currently working but have already been let go from one job for my seizure disability and my bi-weekly seizures are starting to affect my current position. I am wondering if I will even be eligible for SSDI...
I have seen multiple people comment on what happens after the PDBR process, but I have run into a big brick wall at this point. I was medically separated in 2004 with an idiopathic seizure disorder @20% and given a severance. Fast forward to three months ago and my original separation was...
You are right that it can never hurt to at least apply. It is good to get the advise on how to approach the whole application process. I think that I will wait for my retirement packet to come in the mail to make sure that I have all the information that is needed before applying so it does...
I just received paperwork in the mail from PDBR dated 8 August 2012 stating that I am going to be medically retired at 40% (though like I mentioned before I am 100% through VA). I have yet to receive the retirement packet telling me what to do next but wanted to get a handle on how to approach...
What were rated for? I can trace my condition back to a fall during basic training which resulted in epilepsy. I am currently rated at 100% through VA and am wondering if I would be able to apply for CRSC. Thanks for your help; it is always nice to hear from people who have honest answers...
Where did you send the request the information about severance repayment check? I was increased to 100% June 2010 and they took my original severance out of it before giving me the back payment. Two weeks ago, I was medically retired at 40% and am trying to determine if they are going to give...
I was wondering why the PDBR can come back with a 40% permanent retirement while I am currently rate at 100% disabled by VA for seizures. I can understand that I was given a re-evaluation within one year of getting out of the service and my only having a certain number of seizures qualified me...
The same condition is rated 100% by VA but the paperwork stated "temporary" though I have had several doctors, including VA doctors, tell me that the condition will not improve. I have an idiopathic seizure disorder (epilepsy of unknown cause) and it has been consistently increased from the...
It should not affect your VA rating as they are separate entities. You can have your condition re-evaluated periodically by VA if it changes anyway just make sure to continue with your documentation. sorry to hear about your decision from the PDBR.
Just got a letter in the mail yesterday stating that I am being permanently retired at 40%. I am currently rated at 100% (temporary) by the VA but it is being re-evaluated to see if it should be converted to permanent. Should I send in the cover letter I received yesterday to the VA to help...
I have a question. I am not sure if I am considered TDRL since I was boarded out back in 2004 for an idiopathic seizure disorder (epilepsy of unknown origin/cause) and given severance of 20%. After 7 years and multiple visits to the VA clinics and evaluations (with my epilepsy getting...
