Yes unless you take a record APFT you can not remove the flag. But what you should focus on is the MEB process as this will be important for the rest of your life and how you will transition out of the Army.
They will not change your retirement it is set can't go up or down however they can change your VA rating. Initially after surgery you can file the paperwork and they can temporarily increase to 100 va they yes they will reevaluate you and it may stay the same go up or down.
Thanks I am reading all the posts and I think I realized that is the main reason for me to ensure the DOD is right and see how they relate all of them to the combat injuries so that most or all of the retirement is tax free. Again thanks for the advise.
