Hello,
My son was injured during MOS school and was discharged at 100% TDRL DOD and 100% Service-connected P&T with the VA.
Does anyone know if you are injured/disabled during MOS and go through the MEB/PEB process and medically retired if you qualify for the Forever GI BILL?
Any assistance...
Thank you, Sir. I spent two hours on the phone with the GI Bill benefits hotline and for some reason, they act like he is the first person to be on TRDL with the DOD and be applying for the GI Bill. We are trying to work through it!
Yes. 100% P&T service connected through the VA. When he applied for GI Bill benefits they said they didn't have proof of a service-connected disability through the DOD.
Confusing, I know!
Thank you, Ron. He was denied GI Bill benefits because they said they didn't have proof of a service-connected disability. I guess he will have to appeal.
Appreciate the advice!
Hello,
I am posting this on behalf of my son who is a 100% perm&totally disabled vet with a service-connected disability through the VA and was rated 100% TDRL by the DOD.
Can anyone answer if on the DD-214 on box 28 (narrative reason for separation) if it simply says "Disability" does that...
Hello - I just found out that I was rated at 100% by the VA out that my ratings were sent back to the PEB. Can anyone let me know what the next step is? Does the PEB adopt the 100% disabled rating from the VA or do they come back with a different rating? I was rated for one condition by the...
My son who is Active Duty in the Marines is going through the PEB process now. They received his packet in mid August and I am trying to determine how long it takes for a finding to come back through. I am pretty sure he will be found unfit. His NMA was very clear that he is unfit along with...
His file just got sent to the PEB last week. He has an appointment with his GI Dr. tomorrow to ask to be returned to full duty and ready to train status given the fact that he has been healthy for the past 6 months.
Hello-
My 19 year old son had a gastrointestinal hemorrhage in August of 2016. They found the cause and cauterized the bleed. His Dr. Ref'd him to the MEB in March of 2017. For the past 6 months he has been fine, no signs of bleeding, high hemoglobin levels. However, he has not been in...
Hello-
