    Thank You Thread

ALCON, Just wanted to pass a very meaningful 'thank you' to any and all who either provided guidance or were willing to offer their own insight over the last several months. Even though I was ultimately removed from the MEDBOARD process due to being too close to retirement, I still used this...

Mental Health DBQ - 3a? Symptoms? Section IV?

Nothing wrong with bringing up an old thread as far as I'm concerned. So the short answer is I'm still waiting. I don't retire until the end of May, so I'll receive my rating at some point after that. I'll definitely update this thread regarding whether or not it was in line with the DQB...

18 Year SGM Seeking advice about Type 1 Diabetes and the MEB process.

Not sure if any of this was already mentioned, as it looks like you've gotten a ton of good info so far, but I'll just add my .02 in case it's relevant: 1. I'm AD Navy, and during my MEDBOARD, I had to go to two different classes, very similar to TAPS, but tailored specifically for MEDBOARD...

Are DBQ Writeups Based On Found Medical Evidence?

Thank you both for the replies. As you explained, this is what I figured was the case, as it makes the most sense. I couldn't understand how someone's claim would be denied because the rater didn't see the medical evidence, even though the DBQ allegedly already verified it. Deep breath, indeed.

Are DBQ Writeups Based On Found Medical Evidence?

I still have a few months until retirement, BDD claim was submitted this past December, and now I feel like I'm sitting around coming up with every conceivable reason for the VA to deny my claim(s). If a DBQ is filled out in a given way, that means the examiner was able to find the medical...

    Medical Records Post-C&P Exams?

Hi Charlie, All great info, thank you! The records in question don’t have any additional information, they are just to show continuation of care. I don’t want it to look like I stopped treatment back in May, when I’ve been seeing the Doc since then. Shaun

    Medical Records Post-C&P Exams?

This is more of a general question, but since the medical records in question are specific to mental health, figured this was as good a spot as any. Basically, it's taking forever to get a copy of my most recent records from my civilian Psychiatrists office. It's been over a month since I...

Multiple DBQs For The Same Issue?

I was figuring the same thing, but the 1st exam I had with the new claim was for tinnitus, and the examiner told me she saw the original exam results from my MEDBOARD exam. That, and the MSC that was assigned to me during the MEDBOARD confirmed that all of my original exam results were in my VA...

Multiple DBQs For The Same Issue?

Hello, Just curious if anyone knows how the VA will process a claim if there is more than 1 DBQ for a given issue, and both DBQs are recent? Went through a MEDBOARD, did all of the C&P exams, but never received a rating because the MEDBOARD had me stay in to retire normally. Claim was...

Currently going through MEB/PEB fighting to be found fit

How much time do you have in? I was found fit during MEDBOARD because I was within 1 year of my EAOS and eligible for retirement. If that's the case, MEDBOARD will automatically assume you to be fit to continue service. ** Edit to clarify that the above might apply to only Navy/Marines. For...

Found Fit to Continue Active Service - MEDBOARD With 21 Years

This is the new plan. My 180-day mark is the 2nd day of December. Already got in touch with a VSO, ready to pull the trigger.

Found Fit to Continue Active Service - MEDBOARD With 21 Years

Gotcha. So then - in theory - I shouldn't have to redo anything until next August, and I can submit the current ones in December. I'm guessing this is subjective, though, and the VA can schedule new exams if they decide to do so. Shaun

Found Fit to Continue Active Service - MEDBOARD With 21 Years

That seems to be the case. I'm told it's recognized that I have physical concerns, but they evidentially want me to just sweat the last few months out. For those who are still reading this thread - do DQB's expire? I completed all of my C&P exams in August. I'll be retiring in May, but I...

Found Fit to Continue Active Service - MEDBOARD With 21 Years

Agreed. The primary benefit to MEDBOARD retirement would have been the opportunity to get out of southern CA sooner. I should have paid more attention, and asked for a 2nd opinion from what DFAS told me. Shaun

Found Fit to Continue Active Service - MEDBOARD With 21 Years

Thanks, pretty sure I'm going to need it. If you are referring to an officer package when you reference ADSO, unfortunately I'm enlisted, so I'm bound to my EAOS. One aspect that may help me is that my lower back is one of my referred conditions...and it sucks. Im in the 40% rating range...
