Adjustment Disorder news

As I cannot remember how to start a new thread, here it is. My short term memory has gone to crap, y'all and getting worse by the year I'm afraid. Please send this to all you believe will ACT on this, it should be everyone on this forum. We are all in this together. Some things will never change until we change them.

Ladies(I assume you are out there, also) and Gentlemen, I have sent letters to both of my Senators(Burr, and Hagan) and my Congresswoman(Ellmers) in regards to this issue. I brought to there attention the fact of the backlog and also the furlough situation and that I find it unacceptable behavior by our government. I also sent letters to three broadcast news outlets here in North Carolina giving them the same information. I have only had auto-returns from the Senators and nothing at all from Congresswoman to date. I would plead with you all to do the same. Alone I am but one voice and therefore not very important to them(one vote). If we all show them we believe this should be changed then it may happen. Unless the NSA,DoD, DoA, stopped my emails, LOL, I assume they got to their respective addresses. Come on, guys, help us all out and do the same. You only have to look their email addresses up on the internet and tell your story. I have seen several people out there saying they got their senator on their individual cases and that's good but we need their help for all of our brothers in arms suffering because of the backlogs and bullshit. I also spoke to people in regards to the situation !!!! Waiting on word back the congressman said 60 days we should know something.
 
Well the long awaited directive is in. The thing to take away is that the directive has been signed and PDA has given guidance to the PEB on how to implement this. You need to get with your PEBLOs and ask them to explain it to you. They all have this information and if they aren't calling you, call them. It may still be a little while before full implementation is there, but we are finally close. We have not, I say again have not, received permission to upload the backlogged Adjustment Disorder cases to the PEB yet, but it will be very soon. Here is part of the message we all got.

1) The NARSUM Addendum referencing ChAD must contain all of the same
information and standards that are required for all other diagnoses that
meet or fail retention standards (iNARSUM Guidebook).
- For those cases that are determined to meet retention standards, the
basis for this decision must be clearly explained in the NARSUM Addendum.
- For those cases that are determined to fail retention standards, the MEB
provider must include the information from Section 2 (sources and
references); Section 6 (profile limitations); Section 7 a-g; and Section 9.
Additionally, indicate the stressor and whether that stressor is a highly
stressful event.
2) NARSUM Addendums must be reviewed and signed by the approval authority.
3) The Soldier still has a right to an IMR and Rebuttal for this diagnosis.

Wow, that's great news on the homefront. This, however does not make up for the furloughs and layoffs that will continue to plague this process for everyone else, does it? Since this is taking down this particular barricade for my packet I am happy. For all of us that may still be hindered by the sequester I still believe that we have to move forward with our requests for action from the powers that be. Don't give up just because this problem has almost been solved as there are others that need to be addressed, please. I know that we represent all the states of the Union and should continue to use that power to help our brothers. Thanks again, PEBLO11 for your timely information. Over.

Dose this apply to those who have signed the Narsum and DA 199 agreeing that the condition is fit?

Quick question? If mine is sitting at DRAS has it already been uploaded to the PEB?

It will likely apply if you haven't been separated. You should check with your PEBLO to see if your case is still proceeding or if it is pending a return to MTF. Your PEBLO should know whether or not your case has been stopped.

If it is at DRAS, then yes. The first thing that happens when a case is uploaded to the PEB is that they will determine if you are fit or unfit for retention. If it is determined that you are unfit for retention, then your case is sent to the VA for ratings.

Here is the criteria for the adjustment disorder from the memorandum.

A diagnosis of chronic adjustment disorder will cause a Soldier to be referred to a
Medical Evaluation Board (MEB) when the Soldier exhibits persistent or recurring
symptoms meeting the criteria detailed in the current edition of the Diagnostic and
Statistical Manual for Mental Disorders. These symptoms must be directly caused by
exposure to an enduring stressor and must last longer than 6 months. The causes for
referral to a MEB for chronic adjustment disorder are as follows:
a. persistence or recurrence of symptoms sufficient to require extended or recurrent
hospitalization; or
b. persistence or recurrence of symptoms that interfere with duty performance and
necessitate limitations of duty or duty in protected environment.

I just left my peblo and she said the email was recalled she saw it and then went to the restroom came back and it was gone can you confirm that please????

Found out that it is at DRAS for sure, I just wonder how long it'll take before I actually see ratings!!
 
since ive got rating and it was sent to the PEB and then put on hold would my case be going some where soon?
