Fort Lewis PEB

Once they recieve the unfit memo they make a prelim rating then a supervisor looks over the prelim and once they sign off they then send back to PEB, and the average is 29 days in Seattle, I'm actually past 29 days but is the holidays soo I know I won't hear nothing til jan!

That's the part that is worrying me. My stuff arrived dec 4th with Meb board referred in march. The VA reps only say its in gathering evidence stage and no ones touched it. I've seen a lot of people saying their statuses changed within a couple days after being unfit and the last time someone looked at my va claim was in October and left a note on the system saying waiting for I fit memo. It'd be nice just to know it is t sitting around and that something has been done with it.

Then she also explained to me that the day after you are off terminal leave Is when they finalize your claim, I've seen some people that have said they been waiting months for their ratings to be complete but she also said that they review the proposed rating again for the possibility of the proposed rating being increased or staying the same and then also their workload, but they have a department at each of the three RO that only handle IDES so it's not included with the backlog of claims that are for veterans that are already out

I was found unfit Nov 6 and that same day I moved from gathering to prep decision then to pending approval a couple days later..but u should probably call and see if there's an update, or call your peblo

I've called every other day and my peblo doesn't help with questions just says she is waiting. I've sent a poa to the DAV for the. To help so just waiting to them to receive it. Many have said their ebenefits never updated so it hit and miss but with it not updating and the va reps saying its still in gathering evidence makes me nervous. It took a peblo on here to tell me the va received it dec 4th since I call a week after that and the 800 va number would still say they didn't have it yet and then an iris enquiry finally confirmed they did receive it. I just don't want it to get lost in the mix.

sorry i meant anyone get their proposed ratings from VA around OCT and NOV, have you heard anything from the peb or the PEBLO on the 199 process. I was told its all electroniic but i have yet to see it.

so i called my PEBLO again today and she said her supervisor sent an email 2 weeks ago, i am starting to think she doesnt know what to do. ALL I want to know is where is my packet. Its not at the VA so who has it. There is no update since july 2012 however my MSC and VA swear my packet was sent back to the army. who else can assist me.

All I know is that another soldier in the same shop with me here at JBLM had his stuff sent to peb 4-6 nov timeframe....already has 199 back and that included unfit and proposed ratings...not sure which va location took care of the packets either seattle or auburn...should give you some hope soon but who knows

Mine was at auburn and from the date they received it to the proposed ratings was 54 days, then another week for the peb to accept it then 4 days for them to type 199 then 3 days to hit transproc, currently waiting on orders, I had my seperation brief last Friday so I should have orders this Friday.

Yes, it's electronic it's called ePEB. Your PEBLO should have access to see if it has been reviewed and sent to the writer. smac you should be hearing something very soon, I bet there is only one 199 writer on JBLM not on vacation right now and the work load is huge... I would think by the 1st of Jan you'd hear something. Keeping my fingers crossed for you!!!

my eBenefits just changed to "preparation for decision" today. The Fort Lewis PEB sent the unfit memo to the Auburn, WA VA on 05DEC12.

why does my ebenifits say "need more evidence" than below that it says "time expired to submit". It just got to JBLM on Dec 7th. Doesnt make any sense if my packet was complete that my PEBLO says it was.

thanks all for the updates, i though the 199 is electronic now and doesnt require typing.

Kind of confusing...in modern history, all orders are at some point electronically generated. You generally will not see a typed signature block on the approving authority, but rather an "e-signature." I am not sure the distinction that is relevant here.

Hey Griz,
Mine was kicked back to QTC for them to do a Range of Motion on my back on Friday 14 Dec.. I declined the test so the process could move forward on Monday. It wasn't a referred condition, but rather a listed on just because it was in my medical record that I had a back spasm 1 time! I looked at my ebenefits page, and back spasms was listed last on the claim, do you know if they process that list in order? Since I declined and an addendum was written by QTC and forwarded to VA... and due to the fact it wasn't a referred condition, I hope they are almost done with my ratings... it has been at the VA since 1 Nov.

You should get it done when you get out since you don't want it done now, you could possibly get rated for it

That's the plan... but I was very discouraged when my ebenefits page went BACK to Gathering Evidence. I am hoping they will just continue the process. And I said previously, since my back was the last thing on the list, hopefully they are finished and I should be getting my ratings... but that is asking too much.

Don't be discouraged, usually that change in status will happen when they request new/more evidence. It shouldn't take more than 2 weeks for it to change back.

Sorry just saw your post. Do an IRIS Inquiry to find out what it was. I had the same thing happen, and it was due to the fact the Fusion Cell forgot to send a single piece of unimportant paper (it was actually blank...)

grizz13, I contacted my PEBLO (I hate when I do that) and she did an inquiry with the VA Rep at my WTU. I should have some answers in a week or 2 on why. They can take all the time they need at Ft Lewis as long as my ratings are good and not jacked up. As I heard before--join the crowd.
