Forecast Your Ratings Date - For Seattle

Weekly update posted. It looks like the canceling of overtime is beginning to have an impact. The average days increased slightly for the first time on my chart which begins in June. However, the IDES dashboard did show a slight decrease in the number of days. The VA Monday morning report does not separate IDES claims, so it is possible that the overtime impact is more on Veteran claims rather than IDES claims. Time will tell.

DAV rep told me this morning that my ratings were done as of yesterday. 126 days from unfit memo date
 
I posted, told yall, yesterday that the system was going to be down and updates were going to be comeing out. I did...

Congrats! It was very nerve racking for me to wait the 19 days from ratings complete to DA199. Then again every step is nerve racking because you never know what day is a good day and what day is groundhog day.

shane, I called the seattle dav this morning and they told me my ratings... if your as curious as I was you might want to give it a shot

Nerve wracking is putting it lightly. I've prepped, paid off my debt, saved. I've been ready. The only thing left is the VA getting done with me and the Army giving me my freedom.
Mom wouldn't sign for me to join, so I had to wait till I was 18. Now I'm 45. 27+ years of service. All I really want is to be free for the first time in my adult life. I'm ready. Standing by. 20 yrs, 5 months Active Duty. I just want to be free.

I have a high stress, high optempo job. In speaking with a friend today, I came to realize that the stress of my job and the stress of IDES will be lifted soon. I probably won't know how to act, dazzled, deer in headlights, too many directions to choose from. Free, set, no stress. I'll have to constantly remind myself to stay calm, quit looking for something that's not there. I've seen many AGR's go six feet deep within 5 years after retirement because they were used to living with heavy burdens and short fuzes and it was gone when they retired - like the exact opposite of a train wreck with the same mental effect - and they just didn't know what to do with themselves.

I think that when we reach the clearing at the end of the path with IDES, we really should take another path. Maybe enjoy the sunshine for a bit, but by all means, keep going, keep living. I've got lots of ideas. Even though I can't do much anymore, I know how to get stuff done, I have an extensive network, and I know how to keep wheels greased. I'm just an old and broken E-6 AGR Supply Sergeant, but I aint quitting. Roll Ready!

I might mess up the momentum, but ok. I'll see how it goes. Moving fast right now, don't want to mess that up.

VA Rep Troy said my ratings were not available, not there. Even if they were, he couldn't tell me. Nice guy, but I really didn't buy that they were not available. Maybe the ratings are in another VA system and they aren't posted to the rest of my case file, hidden??????

I'm in preparation for decision like you. Mine should be there, shouldn't they?

I guess I messed up the momentum after all.

From last night preparation for decision and this afternoon i check benefits and it change to Pending Decision APPROVAL WOOT WOOOT whats next?

When it goes back to gathering evidence click the claim and see if it says requested separation documents. This means that the ratings are done and heading back to the PEB.

and its a beautiful thing when it happens. How long does this usually take? one member was saying that he's been waiting for a month on his 199...

One of the best Soldiers I ever knew (not especially pretty on PT/AR 600-9, but a logistical genius) was an "old and broken E-6 AGR Supply Sergeant." (Yes, he was my supply sergeant when I was in Company Command, and mobilized with my company in 2002). Worth his weight in gold- even though (or especially counting the fact) that he was heavier than the Army may have liked. Seriously, he was so good, our active duty Brigade S-4, the BDE CW4/Property Book Officer, and every subordinate unit relied on him for subject matter expertise and for assistance in getting needed items. (No kidding, I was greatly honored when my BN commander commented at Command and Staff Brief that my unit had the best supply/equipment posture and that he directed every other Company Commander to get with me (meaning my Supply Sergeant) to learn how to emulate our success).
He is a former Marine, too, and he was also hilarious in that he did not abide any bullshit (famously uttering those famous words, "With all due respect, followed by his dead on and correct assessment of any situation, including calling out screwed up decisions or "ate up" officers making bad calls...I remember more than once him being asked by O6 or above (including two times that I observed, by General Officers) of his opinion on matters- and he was always dead on correct. I learned about 80% of all of my useful knowledge on from Army logistics this great NCO. And, tough as nails, like he is, I would feel confident sharing a fighting position with him in any situation. Aside from his brilliance in logistics, I think what made him rise above most was his genuine care for Soldiers. I think, aside from technical competence, this is what set him above many others- An abiding sense of leadership in taking care of Soldiers. Plus, I am grateful that he kept my property book above board, which is a difficult task in any unit. I will be forever grateful for having served with him- Mark Devlin, E.G.B.

Well that seems to be all over the map. For me it took 18 days to get my 199 after my ratings were complete. Now I'm on a new countdown, waiting to show up on TRANSPOC.
